12 hours Theoretical and Practical learning.
Dental Council prescribed.
Meets European recommendations for First Cycle. (European Academy of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology position paper on Dental CBCT training).
National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Supplemental Mentored Learning Programme contiguous with the First Cycle Higher Education.
Builds on prior undergraduate Dental Radiography and Radiology training.
Refer and Delegate or `Self-Refer' for an appropriate Dentoalveolar CBCT scan for your patient undergoing a care plan.
Recognize Dentoalveolar anatomy and disease affecting the Dentoalveolar region.
Analysis of the outcome of the CBCT scan should have an influence on patient management.
(This level of training reflects the basic Dental CBCT training requirements for all Dental Practitioners who intend to use the CBCT imaging modality according to EADMFR guidelines. It would be considered an integral component of European training programmes in Dental CBCT imaging. This level entails understanding within a shared learning environment of the basic principles, indications, applications, and technical limitations of Dental CBCT, as well as the inter-relationship between Dental CBCT and other conventional dental imaging methods).
