The appropriate use of Cone Beam CT in dental and maxillofacial radiology has the potential of improving patient outcomes Please note that for implant cases any measurements provided in the clinical evaluation (radiological report) are to give the dentist a general idea of the amount of bone remaining, it is recommended to perform exact measurements during treatment planning. 

CBCT imaging has inherent disadvantages both for resolution and grey level value representation of bone density. Regional placement considerations and the diagnostic information obtained from any other radiographic methods should be included in the treatment planning for implant placement bone quality.
